“Cold Feet”

clashes

Our wedding was three months away. I’m fighting through cold feet, and work was piling up. I stayed late often to stay caught up, and brought it home from time to time. She felt that I was being unfaithful and started checking my phone. After a whole night of fighting about why I text other girls, I called it quits!!

— Schmustin

Aftermath: It took a week and a half of her pleading with me, before I told her I was going to call the cops if she didn’t get out of my house. I realized I’m not ready to give up 20 yr old bodies!!!!

“Long Drive Home”

best of clashes

We met up at a bar one night with a bunch of friends and I rode with a friend of mine. He convinced me to go back to his place with him (30 miles out of the city) and he would drive me home. At his house he promptly fell asleep. When I tried to wake him up he said “just take my car.” Seriously??

— Over it

Aftermath: I drove myself home and parked his car near my house in a random parking lot and put the keys under the mat. Hope he had fun looking for his car.

“Good Luck Keeping a Girl”

manners

I was his date to his sister’s wedding. That night he danced with other women, got drunk in front of his family (whom he forgot to introduce me to) and by the end forgot that I was his date. He called the next morning apologizing for not saying good-bye. He had in fact said good-bye, but was too drunk to remember it.

— happier now

Aftermath: We broke up on Valentine’s Day after he was late picking me up because he took a long nap after going hashing (running and drinking) that morning. I finally had enough and knew I deserved better.

“Long Distance Destruction”

secrets!

I was deployed to Afghanistan for a year. I had been seeing her for 4 months prior and flew her to Germany to visit with my family there during my two week leave. After she got back to the U.S. I called her. It was late at home, so she sounded sleepy. Next thing I know a guy is on the phone telling me she did not want to see me anymore.

—Dear John

Aftermath: She begged forgiveness. I told her to ask “Jody” for forgiveness. Those in the military will know who “Jody” is.
