I asked him to come over after bowling one night. He never showed up. Texted me and said he went straight home and went to bed. Facebook showed him online as late as midnight flirting with another girl. I caught him in several lies.

Aftermath: I told him I was done with his lies and moved on. I’m happy with my boyfriend and he’s dating someone as well.
We had been dating a couple months and the weather started getting warmer. He broke out his summer clothes and his shorts were a bit too tight and too short. I realized I may be able to change that, so continued dating him. Then one night he came over and could not figure out how to turn the DVD player on…after 15 minutes. Needless to say we didn’t watch a movie that night.

My boyfriend suspected I was thinking of breaking up with him, so one night he snuck off the condom without saying anything. I noticed and asked why he did that. He said, “so I can give you something you can’t give back,” i.e. a pregnancy. I stopped everything, broke up the next morning.

I wasn’t comfortable with how needy he was. Too many times, he’d ask me something and not accept when I said it was fine. Dating was a novel thing at first, but then I realized I was in love with the idea of being in love and not with him.

Aftermath: We had an outing planned with some of his friends. I didn’t want to dump him that particular day, but he pressed the issue about what was wrong. I felt terrible with myself, but oh so good to be free of him.
He told me a week before Christmas, and 5 months after our 2nd daughter was born, that he didn’t want to be married anymore, sans explanation. By New Year’s I had my own place, and he had knocked up his new girlfriend.

Aftermath: His girlfriend left him. He tried getting me back and even wanted me to move 100 miles away to his new house he couldn’t afford since she left. I’m now living with someone else.
