“Ain’t”

He used the word “ain’t” in casual conversation and meant it. I work in communications, and one of my pet peeves is bad grammar.

    Did he use it correctly? It’s the contraction for “am not”, so as long as he said “I ain’t” he was grammatically correct.

    That’s almost as bad as saying “um” every fifth word like so many people do.
