“Could it be…hmm…Satan?”

best of chemistry

For months it was a rollercoaster of ups and downs, breaking up and getting back together. I should of known it was PERMANENTLY over when he said he didn’t believe in evolution (I’m a scientist) and that gays were caused by Satan.

Aftermath: I think we stayed together for a few more months.

See, I would’ve ended it the first time you used the phrase “should of”.

or “and rollercoaster” instead of “a rollercoaster”.

Hey, check it out! Two idiots are trying to make fun of someone’s typos even though THEY made typos themselves.

    Periods go inside quotation marks.

If you’re going to pick on someone’s typing, at least make sure you now how to do it properly yourselves.

Isn’t it great when people who insist on pointing out their superiority F up in the process?

  4. The Shame says on :

    know*

It would only make sense that I would make a typo while defending someone else’s typos.

The Shame, you are showing your own ignorance.

Periods can go either inside OR outside the quotation marks. You prefer to do it one way, but that doesn’t mean it’s the only way to do it.

Traditional English usually puts the period outside the quotes, while American English usually puts the period inside the quotes.

When you assume the way you were taught is the only proper way, you show your ignorance.

My assumption here, Dave, is that the two posters are American. If they’re English, and that’s the way they were taught, then I am indeed wrong.

I should have clarified; in AMERICAN English, the period goes inside the quotation marks.

Of course, we’ll never know if any of the three of you are English or American, because you’re safely behind your computers, where you can insult strangers in total anonymity.

Point is, these two people made fun of the original poster’s typing. A jerk move. I tried to defend her, and you come around to try and put me in my place.

Because… defending someone is something you just can’t tolerate?

I don’t even get the whole rollercoaster thing. The poster typed it right.

But gays are caused by Satan. I do not understand why you broke up with him.

How I always thought punctuation and quotes were used together:

    a) “A penny saved is a penny earned.”

    b) I hate my coworker, every other word that comes out of her mouth is either “like” or “hella”.

I think grammar Nazis are caused by Satan.
