“Missing the point”

manners

I sent my (somewhat bitter) ex a message: “I tried to call you but you turned off your phone, which I think is kinda childish… But anyway. I think I’m pregnant. If I am, I might have to abort. I don’t expect anything from you. Just letting you know out of respect.” He only replied: “I was abroad all day! If that’s being childish… ”

—Catarina

Aftermath: Luckily, I wasn’t pregnant.

Why in the world would you bother to message him if you weren’t sure that you were pregnant?? Especially since you didn’t expect anything from him.

Obviously starting a message so passive-aggressively (calling him childish) is a great way to make sure that your situation is taken seriously by him.

He’s lucky to have gotten away from someone who needs attention the way you do. No one who doesn’t crave drama would message an ex before they were sure they were pregnant.

But Catarina has a point about him missing the point… Sounds like you two are better apart… No respect shown on either side.

Good God the world is full of asshats.

Not that is entirely relevant but what the Hell does “I was abroad all day” mean? I know what “abroad” means but did he?
